Hillsdale, MI, May 11, 2017

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation YOUTH (Youth Opportunities Unlimited Throughout Hillsdale) will be hosting a dunk tank fundraising activity on May 20th during Jonesville Riverfest. The dunk tank activity will raise funds for the Kellogg Youth Advisory Fund at the Community Foundation, an endowment fund from which the YOUTH are able to fund grant requests from area non-profits who are looking to finance projects and ideas to better the youth of Hillsdale County.

Community members can visit the dunk tank location at the police and fire station on US 12 in Jonesville starting at 12:00 pm on May 20th. Supporters can donate for a chance to dunk the adult volunteers in the tank; adult volunteers were recruited by the YOUTH members and represent schools and/or geographic regions within in our county. The tentative schedule is as follows:

During the dunk tank event, the YOUTH will be providing free temporary tattoos and other giveaways to area youngsters while supplies last.

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation YOUTH was established in October of 1991. The YOUTH Advisory Council has an ongoing program for studying the assets, needs, and concerns of the young people of Hillsdale County. YOUTH has a special endowment fund, initially made possible by a challenge grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, to make available grant dollars to benefit and involve young people in Hillsdale County.
