The Hillsdale County Community Foundation is reminding area non-profits of the upcoming deadline for applications for the November general grant cycle. All grant applications are due in the HCCF office by 4 pm on November 1st. This deadline is for applications for the HCCF Community Investment Fund, also known as adult or general grants. Applications cannot be accepted by HCCF after the due date regardless of postmark date. Although the HCCF office is closed to the public, grant applications may be dropped off in the front vestibule.
The HCCF is interested in funding projects that will improve the quality of life for the citizens of Hillsdale County. Eligible projects generally fall within these categories: education, fine arts, social services, community development, recreation, environmental issues, health and wellness, and improvement in the physical, mental, and moral conditions of Hillsdale County residents. HCCF is also accepting grant applications related to the impacts and emergent needs resulting from the COVID-19 crisis. The Foundation aims to support creative approaches to community needs and problems that benefit the widest possible range of people.
Applicants must be tax-exempt according to Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an educational institution, or a governmental unit. An additional requirement for all applicants is that the organization must contact the HCCF office prior to submitting an application. Grant application forms and guidelines are available on the HCCF website, www.abouthccf.org, or at the HCCF office. More information regarding applying for a grant can be obtained by calling the Foundation office at 517-439-5101 Monday through Friday from 9 am – 4 pm.
The Hillsdale County Community Foundation was established in 1991 “For good. For ever.” As a community grant-making foundation, it provides seed money to organizations and institutions that have identified problems and have designed constructive action programs aimed at solutions. A majority of the Foundation’s grant making is focused on the areas of youth, leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism.
