The Hillsdale County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the most recent adult grant cycle. A total of $42,462.94 has been awarded to area non-profit organizations for projects or programs to benefit Hillsdale County residents. The following organizations were awarded funding through the Community Investment Fund:
- July 3rd All American Celebration, $10,000;
- Hillsdale Great American Parade, $1,000;
- Village of Camden/Kidz 2 Kidz, $6,190.67 for a pavilion at the Camden Jaycees Park;
- Hospice of Hillsdale County, $1,642.27 for construction of a multipurpose float;
- Litchfield United Methodist Church Food Pantry, $1,000 for food pantry needs;
- Opportunity House, $5,685 for shelter repairs;
- Greater Hillsdale Humane Society, $2,000 for advertising;
- Love, Inc., of Hillsdale County, $11,600 for startup costs; and
- Village of Waldron/Waldron Pythian Sisters, $2,000 for community beautification.
In addition, the Community Action Agency was awarded $1,345 from the James and Ardath McCall Building Fund to provide housing assistance.
Information regarding applying for a grant can be obtained by calling the Foundation office Monday through Friday from 9 am – 4 pm, or by stopping at the offices located at 2 S. Howell Street, Hillsdale, Michigan. Information is also available online at www.abouthccf.org. The Hillsdale County Community Foundation was established in 1991 “For good. For ever.” As a community grant-making foundation, it provides seed money to organizations and institutions that have identified problems and have designed constructive action programs aimed at solutions. A majority of the Foundation’s grant making is focused on the areas of youth, leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism.
