Hillsdale, Michigan – 29 November 2023: The Hillsdale County Community Foundation, a leading philanthropic organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Hillsdale County, is delighted to announce the extraordinary success of Giving Tuesday. This annual global day of generosity, which took place on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, witnessed an inspiring collaboration between HCCF and 15 nonprofit organizations committed to making a positive difference in our community.
Giving Tuesday, a worldwide movement that encourages charitable giving, harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to foster generosity and create lasting change. This year, the Foundation partnered with a diverse group of 15 nonprofit organizations, each working tirelessly to address critical issues and improve the lives of those they serve in Hillsdale County.
The impact of Giving Tuesday was felt across various Hillsdale County sectors, including education, healthcare, the arts, volunteer services, and more. Donors from our community rallied together to contribute to the causes they are passionate about, resulting in $206,638 raised through 1,010 gifts.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support our community has shown at the Great Give,” said Sharon Bisher, CEO. “This event not only highlights the collective power of giving but also strengthens the bonds within our community as we work together to address pressing challenges and create positive change.”

- Hillsdale Community Theatre – The Sauk
- Hillsdale County Great Start Collaborative
- Hillsdale Hospital
- Hospice of Hillsdale County
- Love INC.
- King’s Kupboard
- St. Peter’s Free Clinic
- Salvation Army
- The Jonesville Mission
The collaborative effort of the Hillsdale County Community Foundation and these nonprofit partners exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy, demonstrating the profound impact that can be achieved when the community comes together with a shared commitment to positive change.

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation was established in 1991 with their slogan, “For good. For ever.” As a community grant-making foundation, it provides seed money to organizations and institutions that have identified problems and have designed constructive action programs aimed at solutions. A majority of the Foundation’s grant making is focused on the areas of youth, leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism.
