Litchfield Fire Department Recognition Dinner

Hillsdale, MI, 2 November 2022: On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Hillsdale County Community Foundation and the Litchfield Congregational Church partnered to celebrate the Litchfield Fire Department. The dinner was held to show appreciation for the fire fighters dedication to the Litchfield Community.

At 6:00 p.m., Reverend Rodger Moyer blessed the food while servers Marge Delaney, Barb Hooey, and Pat Shepherd provided the firefighters and their spouses a delicious meal of Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, coleslaw, apple sauce, and cottage cheese.  Sharon Draper baked and decorated a beautiful fire fighter themed cake for dessert.

After the meal, the Litchfield City Manager, Jason Smith, offered remarks to the fire fighters and their spouses, and Foundation CEO, Sharon Bisher, presented a plaque to Scott Skilly and Andy Reynolds. Bisher noted the importance of neighbors helping neighbors in rural communities like Litchfield.

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation was established in 1991 “For good. For ever.”  As a community grant-making foundation, it provides seed money to organizations and institutions that have identified problems and have designed constructive action programs aimed at solutions. A majority of the Foundation’s grant making is focused on the areas of youth, leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism.
